English Government Grant
Government Grant for 3 and 4 year olds:
At the present time, Le Hérisson School is part of the governments scheme whereby three year olds attending Le Hérisson can obtain funding for the term after their third birthday and remain eligible until their fifth birthday, up to a maximum of 6 terms. A maximum of 6 terms does not imply that 6 government grants will be received; this is dependent upon the time of the year your child is born and how that works with the school calendar. Pupils will be eligible for the Government Grant as follows:
If your child is born between 1 January and 31 March, they are eligible for the Government Grant from our summer term following their third birthday.
If your child is born between 1 April and 31 August, they are eligible for the Government Grant from our Autumn term following their third birthday.
If your child is born between 1 September and 31 December, they are eligible for the Government Grant from our Spring term following their third birthday.
Provided the School elects to participate in the Local Authority and Central Government Grants scheme (see the Schools Terms and Conditions), your child will automatically become eligible for the Government Grant the term after their third birthday. If you have not already done so you will need to provide a proof of your child’s age (via a copy of their birth certificate) and forward this to the school office.
